Having found her way into the black book of many after her unlucky last-start second at Caulfield, punters and trainer Andrew Noblet are hoping his filly All About Eve can get the breaks when it counts in Friday's $100,000 VOBIS Gold Elvstroem Classic (1300m) at Swan Hill. Installed $1.80 favourite with Sportsbet for the most lucrative race on day one of the Swan Hill Cup Carnival, Noblet admitted to not wanting to watch the replay too many times of his juvenile, who was beaten a head behind Magic Max 13 days ago. "She was a touch unlucky," quipped Noblett. "She has come out of the run in very good order and should get every chance. "She just ended up in an ordinary spot, through no fault of Daniel's (Stackhouse), the run was there for a second and then it wasn't, when she was going sideways, they were going forwards. "It was a little bit her fault she got a bit distracted down in gate one and missed the kick a bit, which brought her undone and things didn't play out from there. "I was rapt with the way she closed off though." WATCH: All About Eve finish second at Caulfield A winner on debut at Bendigo, All About Eve is raced in the Carbine Thoroughbreds silks, who paid $110,000 for the chestnut filly at the 2020 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale. With a potential $76,000 windfall to Friday's winner, which would more than double what she has earned in two starts to date, Noblet said he had no hesitation giving her a third run in her initial campaign. "Everything she's done she has just got better at," her Ballarat-based trainer said. "She trialed up well before her debut and so we've always had a nice opinion of her. "The fields she's been in have been ok, a few were spruiking theirs last start. "We were open-minded what we do with her after her last run but it's not a nice time to be in the paddock and she's a VOBIS Gold horse and it's a small field. "She can have a little break after this in the paddock and water walker and freshen-up for the back end of spring." As for taking the odds-on quote on Friday? "They always seem to like the flashy run," Noblet said of the short price. "I've watched a few replays, Snowdens' (Castile) won nicely at Sale on debut and they are all up there trying to win it aren't they? "She's certainly in the mix." Noblet is also set to saddle-up Ginger Jones, who has drawn barrier four in the second of the afternoon's features, the $100,000 Golden Topaz (1200m). "He is one of those horses who has to draw well to run well," Noblet said of the five-year-old. "He can possie (position) up in the field and have every chance. "We freshen him up and space his runs but doesn't win out of turn." Ballarat-based hoop Will Price has been engaged to ride both Noblet's gallopers on Friday. Noblet tasted Swan Hill Cup success in 2006 when he prepared Special Voyage to win the feature event of the carnival.

We have had a quiet couple of months on the racetrack and farwelled a couple of our favourite horses with the retirement of MYSTERY LOVE and BOOMSTOCK who were great horses for their owners. While one chapter closes, another one opens the next couple of months should be fascinating with the imminent debut of our exciting STAR TURN 2yo filly (named ALL ABOUT EVE) and our Mick Price trained FLYING ARTIE gelding (named FLYING ARTIST). Add to that, we have lightly raced 3yo THE DEC (Kermadec x Sixth Chance) having only his second start today at Geelong so we are going to find out just how good some of these young horses are. ALL BOUT EVE READY FOR DEBUT All About Eve is all the rage at Bendigo on Sunday with Sportsbet installing her the $3.50 favourite off the back of some impressive jumpouts. She was a $110,000 purchase at last years Melbourne Premier Sale and has impressed trainer Andrew Noblet from day dot. She has drawn barrier 11 which makes things a little tricky and comes up against some well bred first starters so it will be a huge effort if she can claim the prize. Good luck to all her owners. THE DEC SET TO FINALLY DELIVER The Carbine horses are well in the market this weekend with THE DEC commanding plenty of attention in Race 4 at Geelong opening up as the $2.80 favourite. The Dec looked very smart as an early 2yo but he has been hampered by growing pains over the last 12 months and has only had the one start to date which has been a touch frustrating for all concerned. He has been given plenty of time to mature and looks set for a good campaign with Mick Price keen to step him out in trip this time in. Personally, I think he is risk at the short odds today but I’ve been wrong before! FLYING ARTIST IMPRESSES OLLIE The Flying Artie stock have exceeded market expectations this season with his first runners having more success than many pundits thought headed by Blue Diamond winner ARTORIUS. We’ve always like our Flying Artie boy since purchasing him for $50,000 at last years Adelaide Magic Millions Sale. He impressed Damien Oliver at Tuesday's jumpouts and he looks set to make his debut in early June. FAREWELL BOOMER AND MYSTERY LOVE After 21 starts and $122k in prizemoney, BOOMSTOCK retired a sound and a happy horse with ongoing breathing issues preventing him from recapturing his form from last year. Jamie Kah and Boomer formed a great combination on the racetrack and it was only fitting that Jamie offered to give Boomer a home after racing! MYSTERY LOVE was hampered by injuries in the second half of her career and she heads to the upcoming Magic Millions Broodmare Sale where she is sure to attract plenty of attention as a dual city winner and stakes winner of the Bendigo Guineas. After winning her first three starts, she looked a Group mare in the making but she never quite reached her true ability with niggling injuries curtailing her career. She ended up with 4 wins from 12 starts and $202k in prizemoney. More importantly, she gave everyone some serious thrills and memories that will last forever!A big thanks to all the owners for a fun couple of years racing Boomer and Mystery Love. ARTIE SCHILLER FILLY HAS SOME SERIOUS X FACTOR Our $60,000 Artie Schiller filly has completed her breaking in preparation and has all the hallmarks of a very good filly..she glides over the ground, has a powerful rear end and struts around with an air of confidence. You just don’t find fillies with her quality for that sort of money...we were extremely lucky to land her. Her sire  just keeps flying under the radar. He produced yet another talented filly during the week with 2yo filly BURUM winning easily for Ciaron Maher on debut and stamping herself as a future stakes filly. I will let you be the judge but I reckon this filly will be pretty smart and we've got one lucky share remaining to sell – check her out.

An interesting couple of days coming up for the team with some of our big guns stepping out (Mystery Love and Ruban Blue), Ocean Knight looking to resurrect his career whilst the lightly raced Snifter shoots for two wins on the trot. MYSTERY LOVE LOOKING TO ATONE Caulfield Race 4 @ 1:35pm At her best and when she is right, MYSTERY LOVE is group material and we are hoping that she can rediscover her best form at Caulfield tomorrow. She flopped on a bottomless track two starts ago and didn’t handle the stresses of travelling to Adelaide last start so it may pay to forgive her last two outings. Melham on tomorrow. Home track. Perfect surface. Freshened up. Fingers crossed Mystery Love can bounce back to her best! RUBAN BLUE - MR CONSISTENT Caulfield Race 7 @ 3:30pm RUBAN BLEU has become a model of consistency in recent times. Many judges had him pigeon holed he as a wet tracker who loved Flemington. But his win at Caulfield last start on a good track showed that he was more than just a one trick pony! He partners up with his favourite jockey tomorrow, Lachie King, and looks a great chance in a tough race. Importantly, there is good speed on paper so look for Ruban to be charging home late. SNIFTER - ON THE UP Geelong Today Race 5 @ 2:30pm Nicconi 3yo SNIFTER might be the smokey in the team but we’ll now more after today’s race at Geelong. He won a moderate maiden at Echuca (his first run for Paddy Payne) and jumps up significantly in grade today. Patrick has given him a month between runs and thinks he has improved! If he wins today, we might have a pretty handy horse on our hands! OCEAN KNIGHT  - ON THE COMEBACK Geelong Race 7 @ 3:30pm OCEAN KNIGHT had the world at his feet as an early 3yo. He was on track for the Caulfield Guineas and looked a star in the making. Injury hit in the Danehill Stakes and unfortunately, he has never been right since. After having surgery to his hind leg back in March, this preparation is very much a boom or bust campaign. The early signs are encouraging. He has never been sounder so lets hope he comes through today’s race unharmed and we see a glimpse of the old Ocean! PEACE BROTHER - WINNER WINNER The week started well with Pierro gelding PEACE BROTHER winning a hard fought battle at Ballarat on Tuesday (albeit in the all white silks of the Club!). The win brought up our 12th winner for the 19/20 season with 5 weeks remaining. We are currently running at a solid 14.5% winning strike rate which should improve further with some upcoming winners in the pipeline! A talented jumper, Peace Brother is being groomed for a career over the hurdles which will be Carbine’s first foray into jumping.
